Delivery & Distribution
Moving goods.
For most delivery and distribution fleets, a carbon-free transportation future depends on the financial and operational parity of EVs with ICE vehicles. Voltera helps you get there.
Drayage Fleet Solutions
Drayage fleets face significant regulatory pressure to decarbonize. Yet extreme competition for land and power near ports makes deploying charging infrastructure at scale particularly complex. Whether you’re looking for charging capacity at your distribution centers, off-premises, or both, Voltera has the experience, expertise, and capital to help.
Middle Mile Fleet Solutions
Access to government incentives to offset costs. Rapid deployment of charging infrastructure at your existing facilities. Development of new strategically located sites to mitigate range constraints. Seamless integration of charger, site, and energy management into your fleet management system. SLA-guaranteed reliability enabled by industry-leading hardware, purpose-built software, and an in-house operations team. These are the ways Voltera helps you realize a carbon-free transportation future.

Voltera in action.
In just 18 months, Voltera acquired a site at the Port of Long Beach (one of the country’s toughest real estate markets), procured 11 MW of utility power despite significant distribution grid capacity constraints, and deployed 65 DC fast chargers to serve up to 200 vehicles per day.
FAQ
Would Voltera deploy charging infrastructure at my distribution center?
Yes. We’ll take on the complexity of procuring the additional utility power and associated permits, leveraging the relationships we’ve built with AHJs and utilities in key markets. Leveraging the deep relationships we’ve developed with leading charger OEMs, we’ll manage charger procurement and deployment (and, optionally, maintenance).
Would Voltera acquire, develop, and operate a new on-route charging site?
Yes. In fact, building and operating charging facilities is our core engagement model. We’ll take on the CapEx to acquire the site. We’ll manage the complex and time-consuming process of site permitting and power procurement, leveraging the relationships we’ve built with AHJs and utilities in key markets. (We also have a growing portfolio of shovel-ready sites to speed time to capacity.) And with in-house EV charging expertise bolstered by partnerships with best-in-class service providers, we’ll operate the facility efficiently and reliably to keep your vehicles on the road moving goods.
Does Voltera’s facility management software integrate with my own systems?
Yes. Our purpose-built software – which covers charger, site, and energy management – is designed for seamless integration into your fleet management system. We know we are a small piece of a fleet operation, and we’ve designed our software platform to be very easy to fit into your business. Our API integrations and intuitive user experience make it easy for you to integrate our platform into your existing operations and get the data you need to make informed decisions. Furthermore, our platform allows you to test new technologies and processes alongside your regular operations without causing disruptions. This flexibility reduces the risk associated with the transition to EVs and enables you to adapt and evolve as you discover what works best for your fleet.
How does Voltera ensure high-quality site operations?
Our purpose-built charging facility management software enables higher reliability, higher efficiency operations and eases the burden of integrating EVs into your fleet. Our software connects every aspect of the charging facility – chargers, security, buildings, energy – into our Integrated Operations Center (IOC). The IOC team leverages the platform’s advanced capabilities (e.g., real-time monitoring, proactive maintenance, root cause analysis, and issue resolution) to maximize charger uptime and ensure a consistently high-quality sitewide experience. Other capabilities, such as load management, enable cost optimization. And because we built and control the platform, we can incorporate your feedback for continuous improvement.
