Artena leads People strategy at Voltera, partnering with the executive team to build a high-performing, values-driven organization that enables the company’s rapid growth and mission to scale zero-emission transportation. She is responsible for aligning talent, organizational design, and leadership development with business priorities, ensuring the company has the structure, culture, and capabilities to execute at scale.

With 15 years of experience across climate technology, energy, and aerospace and defense, Artena brings deep expertise in organizational development, employee relations, performance management, and talent strategy. She is known for building People functions from the ground up and creating systems that connect business strategy to a strong, engaged employee experience.

Prior to joining Voltera, Artena led the People function at CarbonCapture, where she built and scaled the organization in a venture-backed climate technology company, supporting rapid growth and operational complexity across multiple locations. Earlier in her career, she spent nearly a decade at Applied Minds, partnering with highly technical, multidisciplinary teams and supporting government-facing programs in the defense and energy sectors.

Artena earned her Bachelor’s in Sociology with a minor in Global Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Based in Los Angeles, she is passionate about building strong teams and spends her time outside of work focused on health and fitness, including weight training, yoga, and running.
